Winter Park Colorado Remodel with Nouveau Narrative by Erica Kalkofen
Welcome to the third of four Sherwin-Williams 2016 color preview blogs. This palette, Nouveau Narrative, is by far the most sedate of the pairings, but with an underpinning of suave elegance. I have used a lot of the colors in this palette and found them exciting and bold and warm. I suggest using the Duration base, as it will give you the truest color. While it is a bit more expensive, so worth the gorgeous end results.
What I love about this palette is the mix of rich, tapestry inspired colors. So, how to use these for your next Winter Park kitchen remodel? Well, as an example, you could start with a base of Urban Putty for the wall color and then start with your splash of color on the cabinets: Naval will be more of a contrast, while Aleutian will be a more subtle contrast. Use the Crabby Apple for accent colors: tea pot, mixer, or even the range. Yes, you can use a range in a different color for your Winter Park remodel coming up.
I also love the Roycroft Pewter for doors and trim with the Urban Putty on the walls for a sharp, well defined contrast. Paired with a darker tone floor (think Espresso), this combination is rich, inviting, and homey. Use silver and white accents with this combination for a touch of levity.
Overall, this palette is perfectly suited for your Colorado Mountain Winter Park remodel. Leather furniture, rich wool rugs, paired with lighter accents for lights and tables, is a great, timeless look for your remodel.
